Activate a hyperlink in a footer

I can insert a hyperlink in a footer but have not had luck using it from the document. I can use it if I doubleclick on the footer, open it and cntl click it.

In older versions of word, it was possible to activate a hyperlink in the footer.

Can you please help me accomplish this? I want to have a Return to TOC in the footer of each page so the user can easily go to the Table of Contents from anywhere in the document

Thanks!

G'day "jody" <[email protected]>,

Damn - nice idea jody, shame it isn't supported eh? Here's a stab at a
work-around for you - what bout floating a text box from the footer
with a hyperlink. I am guessing it will fail as well, but ya never
know.
