ACPI and PS/2 keyboard

i have a configuration that uses ACPI Uniprocessor PC.
i want to use an PS/2 keyboard and mouse.
the mouse works fine untill i press a button on the keyboard.
the keyboard works fine before booting Windows XP.
The same problem happens with XP Pro.
If i change to a Standard PC, the keyboard works.
i also see that the resources from the mouse(ACPI Uniprocessor PC)
contains the I/O ranges from the keyboard (Standard PC).

Is this a problem in my build or is this Biosrelated?
I have to use ACPI Uniprocessor PC, so going to Standard PC isn't an
option.

Hi riddler,

If the same problem shows in XP Pro and XPE, it might be the BIOS issue. Did
you try USB KB/Mouse to see if the same situation happen?

Hi Ethan,

USB-devices work but that is not an option. I have to use the PS/2
keyboard in a ACPI Uniprocessor PC with XPe.
it works in linux.(if that helps)
Important detail is that mouse and keyboard are in 1 piece.(can't
unplug the one without unplugging the other)
if it were a biosproblem, would the keyboard also not function on
boot?
it is like i only get an IRQ for my mouse and no IRQ for my keyboard.
i have searched on the internet and the only solutions i have found
were:
- using Standard PC instead of ACPI PC
- using USB instead of PS/2

those things aren't an option. i have to use this type of keyboard and
i have to use XP with ACPI Uniprocessor PC(Otherwise i have a problem
using a powerbutton).
it looks like problem that only can be solved with work-arounds(that
indeed work for this issue).

i also did the last updates so getting the latest updates won't fix
the problem.

Hi riddler,

You need to let XP Pro to support your devices first (maybe BIOS or drivers)
and then XPE has its chance to support it.
