Account won't work

I keep getting this error:

Account: 'POP.marshall.edu', Server: 'POP.marshall.edu', Protocol: POP3,
Server Response: '-ERR [AUTH] Invalid login', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No,
Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92

and it looks like it's getting ready to work for a second, and then a window
from Windows Security pops up wanting me to verify my username and password
to logon to my server, which I put in, correctly, but then the window pops up
AGAIN and AGAIN- giving me the error message.

Appreciate any help!

Add a new account with the same parameters as the old account.
If it works, move saved emails from the old to the new account folders,
then delete the old account.

I've already tried that ...

Occasionally, you need to enter the server name with no CAPITAL
LETTERS.

Some email servers insist that you enter your username with no spaces
and no CAPITAL LETTERS. Some insist that you follow it with the
part of your email address that starts with @, and some insist that you
don't. Many insist that you enter your password with CAPITAL and
lowercase letters in the correct places. Any error messages they give
when you don't follow such rules are often unclear enough to avoid
helping anyone trying to guess a username and password.

The only other suggestion I have is to try it with Windows Live Mail:
http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview

If nothing else, that would confirm whether the problem is with Windows
Mail or with your account on the server.
