Account Unknown

When I try to go into safe mode or do a windows repair, i'm being asked to
sign in as Administrator. Thats fine and the way it should be, i agree. The
problem is this. When windows loads in, all available accounts appear but
there is NO Administrator account displayed. There is however, an
Administrator 1 account which was setup. When I look in the User Accounts,
it shows all of the accounts that were setup but there is NO Administrator
account in there either. The computer was not very well protected and had
litterally 20000+ spywares. Is it possible that an account was setup from
the outside and if so how do I get rid of it? The programs i've installed
and are currently using are: Antispyware, Spybot - Search and Destroy,
eTrust Pest Patrol, Norton Antivirus, EZ Firewall and Highjacked. After
several days of work, I did manage to rid the system of the Spyware, it
belongs to a friend and they didn't want to lose any files. The machine
simply could not function anymore. The simplist thing to do would have been
to reformat but there was too many files that could not be lost. Thanks for
any help.

Eric.

I forgot to add that we cannot open this account because we cannot figure out
the password. Thanks.

If you have a second administrator account available, you can log into that
account and go into the computer managment console and reset the default
admin's password. If the admin account doesn't exist, youu can create it
(call it Administrator) and set the password yourself by right clicking on
it.
The Groups & User's tool in the control panel SUCKS for managing accounts.
Make sure you are using the computer managment User's and group's snapin.
(right click my computer> and manage)

Thank you for your help. It helped me a great deal. We don't know if there
was anything registered under that account but at least we know we have
control of it now in case it was a hacked account. Thanks again.
