According to Microsoft - Google is probably crashing my IE 6.0

Is there anything I can do to stop the Google Toolbar from crashing IE ?

Here is the deal:

XP Professional, Service Pack 2, Version 2002, RAM 512 MB, Dell Inspiron
8600

I put the Google Toolbar on my system and am pretty sure that it is what
causes frequent crashes of IE. When it goes down, I get the usual MS message
saying that I can send an error report in to MS. After I do this, I get back
a full screen of info saying that this is probably caused by an Add-On. This
is not news to me because a couple years ago I took the Google Toolbar off
for the same reason.

What bugs me is that MS and probably Google should know about this and do
more than have an error message. F what I can see on my PC, nothing has been
done to correct the problem. In fact, Microsoft's answer to the problem
alleges that ALL Add-ons are suspect. To me that means, if we didn't make
it, don't use it.

I am wondering if I were to increase memorary on this computer, the problem
would go away. MS gives no clue that this would work, it is just my thought.

Thanks in advance for your help, especially if you have a solution that lets
me keep add-ons while not crashing any application on my computer.

The Google Toolbar is a good piece of software and I want to use it, but
won't be able to if my IE crashes often.

This also happened when I put the Google Desktop on with several of the
options, including Indexing. The Indexing slowed the system down to a crawl
so I reluctantly got rid of it.

Memory probably won't help. Some people have been having issues with the
Google toolbar since day one and yet other haven't any issues at all. My
suggestion is to get rid of it entirely but if you don't want to try
unloading the other addons and seeing if that makes a difference. If it does
then add them back one at a time until you find the one that conflicts with
the Google toolbar and, well, pick your poison at that point. One or the
other.
