accessing files on another drive

my sys got nailed by something that spanked windows (xp home), so I installed
a new drive and put the old one on as a slave. Now I can't get to the files
saved under the old desktop folder under the docs and settings folder on the
old drive. Its like they are still password protected by my login on the old
xp. how do I unlock them?

please help
