Accessibility options

Hi,

I am unable to turn on Accessibility Options (from under Control Panel). I
get absolutely no response when I select "Adjust the contrast and colors for
text on your screen". If I select "Configure windows to work for your
vision, hearing, mobility needs", I get an error message that says "windows
cannot find c:\windows\system32\accwiz.exe". So it seems like this file is
missing from my sytem. Can anyone help me to either secure this file or fix
the problem in some other way?

Thank you in advance.

Have you verified that the file "accwiz.exe" is missing from the System32
folder?

Try replacing the file from these locations first NOTE: You may need to Show
system files and folder in the Folder Options located in the Control Panel:

How to Show System Files

c:\windows\system32\dllcache
c:\windows\servicepackfiles\i386 (folder may not exist in some systems)

If the "accwiz.exe" file is not preset in the mention folders then expand
the file from your XP CD. Run the following command from the Command Prompt.
NOTE: Replace "x" with your CD drive letter.

expand x:\i386\accwiz.ex_ %systemroot%\system32

You also may want to run System File Checker to replace any corrupt system
files.

To start System File Checker, type the following in the Command Prompt:

sfc /scannow
