Hi!
Since I have shifted from Windows 98SE to Windows XP Pro
(complete installation, not a upgrade). I have been
getting this error everytime I open a accounting
application called Tally 5.4. Kindly help me in this
regard, there is no exact solution in MS Knowledge
Database. There is a workaround in the Knowledge
database, to disable mouse pointer roll-over TOOL TIP by
downloading Tweak UI, but unfortunately it did not
workout.

I would really appreciate if you could please reply
with a solution as soon as possible.

Hi Michael,
Thank you very much for your kind & quick reply, I
really appreciate it very much!

I would like to tell you that when I am running this
s/w in the SAFE MODE, it works (it does not give me any
error) but it does not work in the NORMAL STARTUP MODE.
The problem running it in the SAFE MODE is that in SAFE
MODE startup (even if I login as an Administrator) there
is no printer support. Hence, I cannot print any voucher,
etc. as in the SAFE MODE my printers are not listed in
PRINTERS & FAXES folder, niether can I add any printer.

In NORMAL MODE:
1) Yes, I have tried to uninstall/re-install the s/w, but
it was a no go!
2) Yes, I have checked but there is no update available
for s/w.
3) Yes, as I told you that I followed a workaround given
in the MS Knowledge database, to disable mouse pointer
roll-over TOOL TIP by downloading Power Tool Tweak UI,
but unfortunately it did not workout. The document also
asked to try compatibility wizard. But still it is a no
go!

Well as you are saying that there is no other step
for resolution of this issue, that is a bit
disappointing, but I really appreciate your help!

However, if you think that there is something else
that I can try w.r.t. the new information that I have
given above, do let me know! Kindly reply as soon as
possible.

You're welcome.

You don't have the error in Safe Mode because not everything loads in safe
mode.

Here's a thought, albeit, not the most ideal, you might try dial booting
with your previous OS, 98SE. If you don't have a separate partition which
you could use for this purpose, it will require third party software such as
PowerQuest's Partition Magic (Now owned by Symantec), www.powerquest.com.
Partition Magic has its own boot manager as well, just be sure you use a
version of Partition Magic that is compatible with XP.

That said, you should start searching for a replacement for this
application. The further along we go with regard to updated versions of
Windows, the more problems you are going to have so consider the present
issues a warning and the above a temporary solution until you can find a
suitable replacement.

Thanks for your kind help, I really appreciate it very
much. I will try to go with the partition option. Thanks!

Regards,
Rajiv
