Access security lost

I need some help with Microsoft Security. I am trying to
work on some databases in Access 2000 that were created by
someone else who is no longer with the company. The
databases were setup with the built-in Security. I am
working with copies of the databases locally on my
computer. If I don't copy the .mdw file that was
associated with them I get an error saying that I do not
have permissions to use these databases and need to
contact my system administrator or the creator to grant me
permissions. I then copied the .mdw file to my computer
and used the WRKGADM.exe to join that .mdw file. The
databases now will ask me for the username and password.
The username and password are nowhere to be found (that is
how I got this project). I tried creating a new .mdw file
but without knowing what is in the original I don't get
anywhere. I can't access the original .mdw file because
of security.

I can't import anything from the databases either because
it asks for security info.

Any ideas on how I might be able to access the security or
just wipe it off of the databases would be greatly
appreciated.

Yes, that is the way it works. The problem is you need to log on with
the username and password of the or one of the users who already has full
access.
