Export or Import Objects from One Secured Database to Another

Is it possible to export or import Access database objects (i.e. tables,
queries, etc) from one secured (based on the Access Security FAQ) database
to another secured database which uses a different MDW file (different
usernames and passwords)? I have exported between secured and unsecured
databases, databases secured with the same MDW, and imported from an
unsecured into a secured.

Yes it is, provided you create the same username/PID in each mdw, and that
user or the groups to which they belong have permission.

Joan,

Just to be sure I understand your answer, let me expound a little. If I add
a new user to each workgroup (same username and PID), I could then use that
username to accomplish the transfers. This even though the Work Groups
themselves are totally different (i.e. one is not derived from the other).
Basically, it is the username/PID in the work group that is used to access
the database.

Thanks for the response!

Yes, you have it right. It wouldn't matter which workgroup file they used,
either.

This appears not to be so for modules. They appear to require the "owner", and
of course the "owner" is not visible for modules.
