Access files after re-install

I have a computer that was so hosed from virus' that a re-
install was the only thing I could do as it would not let
me upgrade to XP Professional or allow me into the
existing Windows XP Home Edition. The problem is there is
133GB of files on the D:\ drive that I cannot see and the
user says are extremely important. Is there any way I can
make those files visable and accessable in the new Windows
environment as well as the files in the old profiles?

Personal files and not encrypted? If yes to both questions, the files are
still being protected for the original owner. Log on with an administrative
account and take ownership. Or assign permissions to the "new/same" user.
