ACCESS DENIED!

Hi,
I'm running XP Home using two hard drives. The second drive I used to store
important stuff. All of a sudden, I'm denied access to a folder on that
second drive that holds several gigs of material.

I've tried the Regaining Control process in Safe Mode several times without
success.

Help, please.

Thanks for the replies, but: I do sign on as Administrator. I have used the
procedure JS suggested.

Other ideas?

Hmmmmmmmmm. Guys, I've tried both of JS's procedures without success.

Adding an Owner account did alow me to open the major folder but not the sub
folders. I have over 400 files in sub folders. Pls don't say I have to
individually take ownership of these

I have followed those procedures word for word many times. Oh, woe is me.

Well fellers. I tried the procedure one more time and apparently stumbled
across the right one. . . IT WORKS NOW!

What was the procedure that worked and what did not the first time.

I don't know. I tried so many times.

I think it was be cause I clicked "Owner" instead of "Administrator" as
before.

And, adding "Owner" helped.
