Access Denied

Hi All

Have started getting 'Access denied' errors when trying to open various
applets in control panel etc

I have an event logged 'Windows cannot unload your registry file. If you
have a roaming
profile, your settings are not replicated. Contact your administrator.

DETAIL - Access is denied, Build Number ((2195))'

although this event does not appear for every applet I get the 'Access
denied' error

Related?, any ideas?

Hi Billy,

I'm by no means an expert in this subject matter of the behavior you're
experiencing, but I'll try to assist you to the best of my ability.

Found that another customer reported the exact same problem after
downloading files from Windows Updates off the website with Norton Anti
Virus running and started getting "Access Denied" error message when
accessing Control Panel functionality.

They resolved the issue by re-naming "Rundll32.exe" and re-extracting a new
one from installation disk.
