Access C: Drive

Bassman

I recently made a startup disk for my XP Pro system. I
tried using it to acces my c: drive the same way I do with
Windows ME. When I restart my PC with a disk (ME) at the
A:\> prompt I type " CD C:\" to access the root directory
of my C: drive.
At the A:> prompt in XP, all I get is "invalid drive
specification".
Can anyone tell me why this happens & how I can access the
C: drive...????? Thank You..

A floppy disk for this purpose only works if your system is using the FAT
file system. By default, XP installs using NTFS. The XP CD is bootable and
has all the tools you need. On the start menu, go to Help and Support, type
in Repair Install and read the information, do the same with the term,
"Recovery Console," both should tell you a lot about what you need to know
with regard to using these tools.

The disk you created cannot see an NTFS drive.
