access 2007 with linked tables in access 200, possible

I have several databases all in access 2000. I want to upgrade them to the
2007 format but not all at once. Can a 2007 access file read linked tables
in 2000 or vice versa?

Access 2007 can read Access 2000 data, but not vice-versa.
