I have just put in the said m/board, and when I switched my machine on,
there was no POST beep at the first screen where it gives cpu and ram
information.

Also I noticed that my cpu is shown as Athlon 1800, but it is a Athlon 2500,
so what do I do to show the correct speed?

Any other settings to change for best performance etc?. I have PC3200 DDR
ram.

Make sure Advanced Chipset BIOS Settings have a FSB of 166 a Multiplier
of x11 which should get you to an XP2500+(1826Mhz). Try reversing the
speaker connection on the mobo and/or verify the jumpers (line_out to
Bline_ out) of the Front Panel Audio are in place. Run the Memory Freq.
at 100% and the AGP Freq. at 66 MHz. Those are the base and then you can
tweak it from there.

An AMD 2500 should show as 1833 because that is it`s speed.
