A tubular timeline in powerpoint - xp version office 2003

I want a tubular timeline in my presentation. I can create a timeline in
excel and upload it but it looks awful. if not a tubular one then something
that looks good. i'm doing a presentation to secondary school childeren and i
don't want them to loose them on the second slide.

I'm sorry, what do you mean by a tubular timeline - this isn't a phrase I'm
familiar with? How do you bring it in from Excel and what makes it look bad?
