A I/O operation initiated by the Registry ...

When I turn on my computer I receive the following
message: "A I/O operation initiated by the Registry failed
unrecoverably. The registry could no read in, or write
out, or flush, one of the files that contain the system's
image of the registry"
After that message my computer turns automatically off.
Any help???
