I am trying to show a word decreasing to a smaller font, and then I want it
to return to its original size at the click of the mouse. I am unable to get
the word back to its original size. It jumps to 150%, larger than the
original. Please help. Thank you.

Sherks,

A little clue would be to think backwards

Try choosing the Grow/Shrink Effect

set it to 25%

Then copy all of that slide using the slide sorter, on your copied slide....
Change the custom animation for the text box from "grow shrink" to "appear"
on mouse click

cheers

You could also try duplicating the word in question and scale it to the size
that it previously shrinks to. A little tweaking you can get it to fit the
shrink result that is your first animation. Once you have that, then apply
the grow animation to the duplicate.
