98 Issue loging onto 2000 Server Domain

I've started getting the following error when trying to
logon (using a vaild username,password and domain) a 2000
Server Domain

"The domain password you supplied is not correct, or
access to your logon server has been denied"

Any ideas what can be causing this?
The Server is handing out the PC all the correct DHCP
info, can ping the server name, use net etc just give this
logon msg i've never come across before.

Got WINS installed on the server? W98 still needs that. Also options 044 and
046 (0x8) in DHCP-server, Scope options.
How many nics in the server? Does the winipcfg from the client show that
everything is pointing to the server-IP?
