9500 Probs..

I have a Radeon 9500 256bit memory no mod, no OC and a computer with k7s6a
and amd2200+ with 640 MbRam.
I have installed WindowsXP and Catalyst 4.3
When I play a Game or a bench somtimes seem to slow down and then
reaccelerate. It seems that the card don't display some frame, even when the
FPS is above 60.
I have tried with sinc on or off with no resul.
It's bothering.

Well it's only a 4-pipeline design. The 9700 softmod drivers would probably
solve that, as on its own - the 9500 non-pro is only using 128-bit memory
path, and 4 pipelines.

I tried 9700 softmod but after reboot the system starts and when the desktop
is displayed the monitor turn off(it display the win desktop for about 10-15
sec and then the monitor turn off ). It doesn't work.

With what driver set?

Mine didnt work with anything other than the Cat 4.2's or 4.3's - tried them
or the omega drivers?

I'm using catalyst 4.3
I have tried omega and softmod with no success. My problem is not to mod the
board to 9700.

Hrm. Well, the only thing i can suggest is making sure all the sliders are
at the highest performance level, and that you run with no AA or AF - the np
without softmod isnt really a great card for gaming.

Mine softmods fine - although theres a minor bug in the mouse pointer from
time to time - turns into a black block for 0.1 sec every now and then, but
i can live with it! :D

Try using ATITool, bump the GPU and Mem clocks to 324 and 300 respectively.
Mine sits at this all day and works fine :)

A slow down then speed up could simply be a program running in the
background. Such as an indexing program from OFFICE or a media sniffer
set to check for MP3 and MPGs etc at any given time. I would close
everything unneeded before I would look at the card itself.

To Bad...then you 9500 can't be turned into a fully fledged 9700 card
:)

I self have/had an 9500 Pro..and with 8 pipelines it goes fluent
through..most of the action. Some games...well... still are very hard
on it. I hope the RMA Of my new 9800 Pro goes wel.. I wish to run a
real powerfull 9800 Pro again. But atleast I still got the next best
thing... an R300 with 8 pipelines :)
