8X AGP setting switches itself off

Hello people,

I have a ASUS A7N8X and ATI's 9500 pro. The issue is that when the display
setting are changed to 8x agp, after restarting it automatically returns to
4x AGP. Note that 8x agp is made avalible in the bios. Sometimes after
restarting AGP is turned off.

Any help is appreciated

Is this a motherboard with a VIA chipset ? You might try to install the
latest VIA 4in1 drivers ...

A7N8X has an Nvidia Nforce2 chipset.
