66% failure rate deploying SP4 thru GPO

ok, I've only tried three machines, but 2 out of those 3
failed to install SP4! Not too confidence building.

Fails after inventory (ReturnStatus=1223)

Takes 5 mins to fail, and on failed machines, retrys each
time machine is restarted.

SvcPack.Log lists different files as 'open' each time
machine tries to install SP4 through GPO. (Note: machine
is starting, and not yet ready to accept logon, so there
would be no way to 'close running applications')

Followed instructions in sp4_spdeploy.htm "Scenario 4".

Note that this did work on one of the three machines, so
Sp4_source_dir must be ok, and GPO must be ok.

I've just now read through this forum and see nothing
but LOADS of problems with SP4, finally putting in my two
cents here. I have made only two attempts thus far trying
to install an initial Win2K version that contains SP2,
then following up with trying to install SP4 on a CD I
ordered directly from Microsoft. I cannot complete a clean
installation without problems!

Guess it's stay with SP3 until they fix this.
