64-bit WinXP Pro: Kensington (Trackball) Mouse Drivers

I use the Kensington Expert Mouse Pro. Though, everytime I install the
driver package from Kensington it does not install the proper driver for the
Expert Mouse Pro. Thus, functionality is now limited for the trackball I
use. Does MS offer a driver for the trackball? I am waiting for a response
from Kensington on drivers made for the 64bit machine.

Does it make better sense to use an Microsoft device for the 64bit machine?

Everytime I try and post a question there I get an error message. I would
have if I could have.

Can someone help me out anyhow?

Thanks,
Ed

Microsoft doesn't write hardware drivers, not even for the hardware with
their brand name - the manufacturer of the hardware does. So if Kensington
doesn't have a fully functional 64-bit driver for your hardware, then it is
most likely one does not exist. For most hardware manufacturer's it is just
not economically feasible to go back and write new drivers for new software
technology such as Operating Systems. That is why the average Return on
Investment (ROI) on Desktop systems is 4 years and only 3 years for Laptops.
If you ask me personally, hardware is really obsolete before you get it
unpackaged and put together now days.
