5787 update doesn't work: still 140/138 and after 5785

Microsoft Antispyware is still bugged because I have downloaded new 5787 def
and after that I have 140/138 but when I close the program and I reopen I
still have 5785 def and 138/138.
A new build is necessary to avoid this DANGEROUS bug!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Even with this solution that worked in the past, MSAS keeps updating and the
new defs are not sticking in.
What else can we try to do?

Well they finally fixed the work around, so if you run it now it will prevent
repetitive installs. I can't imagine why Microsoft can't fix this problem,
which has been around since the beginning. If anyone ought to be able to
solve it they surely should be the ones. Bet if Bill "G" knew about it they
would fix it in a hurry!

I have this same problem, and I am desperate for a fix. Or more precisely,
my customers are. I have been recommending MSAS for the last 6 months, and
testing it for my own satisfaction. Apart from cookies, which ppl discuss
elsewhere it is no worse/better than the rest. But currently it wont hold
the new version. I downloaded it again today to see if it had been fixed.
It hasnt.

So now my customers will get another product recommended.

Commercially, I cant afford to recommend an inferior (seeming) product or
one which obviously wont load.

well, I shall check which version Is giving the problem.. but I know I still
cant use the software.. so it will be back to adaware for my lot.....

It's working perfectly right now, the new defs version is installing with no
probs.
Make sure you have the latest MSAS 1.0.701 exp 31/7/2006.
