553 sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts (#5.7.1)

Have web based mail. Have just completed wizard so that I
can send & receive through Outlook.

Am reeceiving fine, but unless I am replying to a message -
in otherwords if typing in an e-address and sending, I
get this back -553 sorry, that domain isn't in my list of
allowed rcpthosts (#5.7.1)

What do I need to do so that I can send mail. Have no clue
what a rcpthost is.

Am as dumb as a rock where technology is concerned, so
please speak slow!

Thanks - S.

Thanks Diane. My mail provider person is off getting
married, but will ask him about SMTP asap and let you know.
Outlook 2002 - is what my 'about outlook' says - would
that be all the description you are looking for? My
platform is XP on a 3 month old computer from Dell and it
came with whatever version is on XP Professional.

The error means you need to authenticate with the SMTP server to send mail.
What version of Outlook and what SMTP server are you using?
