5.1 speaker upgrade question / problem

Can someone please HELP!!!! I have upgraded my sound card and speakers to
Sound Blaster Live and creative 5.1 80 watt speakers. Now the problem is
everytime I shut down XP and then restart it my speaker setting goes from 5.1
back to desktop speakers. I have to open the control panel and change the
speaker setting back to 5.1 everytime. Is there away of keeping this from
happening? Is there away of keeping this setting from going back to the
default setting of desktop speakers instead of 5.1 surround sound? Now the
software that came with the sound card is set to 5.1 but the speakers wont
work unless the windows settings match. It is a sound blaster a800 sound card
with creative live software. thanks, Wayne

The soundblaster software says 5.1 but windows control panel will say desktop
speakers and the 5.1 surround sound will not engage until I select 5.1 from
the drop down menu under desktop speakers. This is something I have to do
everytime I turn on and off my computer. It resets to the default of
desktop speakers instead of 5.1.
