2nd computer can't connect to internet

Main computer is connected to the internet via broadband modem, with ICS
turned on. Also connected to Linksys via PCI cable.
Laptop connected to Linksys via wireless PCMCIA card, both computers can see
each other fine on the network.
How do I get the laptop to access the internet through the host main
computer? whenever I click internet explorer on the laptop, I just get 'page
cannot be displayed'. Main computer is connected to internet at the time,
running XP Pro. Laptop has XP Home.

Ric,

Is the laptop using DHCP client ("Obtain an IP address automatically" and
"Obtain DNS server address automatically") settings?

If it already is, then provide ipconfig information for both computers, let's
see if any other problem is noticeable.
Start - Run - "cmd". Type "ipconfig /all >c:\ipconfig.txt" into the command
window - Open c:\ipconfig.txt in Notepad, copy and paste into your next post.

One additional thought - why are you using ICS if you have a Linksys? Is this a
Linksys router? See these web sites for tutorials on how to connect the router
and computers:

Paranoia comes from experience - and is not necessarily a bad thing.

PCI cable? If Windows networking is working, it sounds like you have the
main computer connected to a LAN port of the Linksys, and nothing
connected to WAN port. Did you disable DHCP for Linksys LAN so the laptop
gets DHCP IP from ICS? What shows for Default Gateway in "route print" on
the laptop (should be the IP of ICS box)?

Since you have a Linksys router, you could try using it as one, with its
WAN connected to broadband modem and no ICS. Then either PC could
access the internet whether the other PC was on or not.
