2k3 preview pane

Does Outlook 2k3's preview pane do an all-or-nothing with regards to
placement on the right or on the bottom? I've been trying to set it to be
on the bottom of some folders and on the right for others but when I set it
in one folder it seems to change in all of them.

both, trying."

All or nothing indeed (I tried to do the same when I got Outlook)

It's all-or-nothing by folder type - if you use preview in Notes for
example, you can have it on the bottom - but then it's on the bottom for all
Notes folders.
