***Gasps of Orgasmic Joy***

Please allow for me to re-install both of my eye balls as they not only popped from out of their sockets but rolled under the bed, to which they still remain. So as I type blindly I ask for you to post, word-for-word, number-by-number the spec of the computer that is depicted in the photo that you provided.

Regards, Opulence

Two questions, firstly, how much did that little bundle cost and secondly, how the devil did you finance it?

You're a better man than me sir, I take off my hat to you.

Oops, sorry if I gave you the wrong impression ... it is not mine, but a good "on-line" friend. (known as F1, DSMF & DeathStar)

In 2002 it cost him around $15,000 to biuld, and some, with the 'racks' starting at $250 each empty. ;)

That, my friend, Is one bad-ass machine and to think that I could purchase two or three with £25,000 sends shivers down my spine. Something tells me I won't be buying one from my local electronics high street store though!

Dear, dear boy, I mean Opulence!
I've spent many a sleepless night thinking how to spec the best PC ever... You should see my scrapbooks. But then I realised that having the best system NOW doesn't mean it's nearly acceptable TOMORROW.

But, if I had that much tons of munny to spend on a SINGLE computer, I assume you're sane enough to have enough in the bank + a house + a car + every single thing a house and a car could possibly need, and a room to put it in:

I'd get the very best Dual, Opteron.

Of course an SLI Gfx setup w/ 2 6800 Ultras. How about FireGL cards???

A decent(I mean that) projector.

Then an array, let's say 4, of the best monitors available.

The best Soundcard I could get.

An amplifier + 7 super duper speakers and a POWERFUL subwoofer.

Add to that the best mouse and keyboard.

A DIRECT satellite internet connection with a good firewall (Mucks, could you advise me here what else I need) to protect my system.

An UPS with a couple of hours capacity + stabilizer.

Four x 10K(15?) rpm Raptors in a RAID + 4 x 300 Gig RAID for backup. Wouldn't SCSI be better???

A powerful WLAN.

Any kind of input device available.

Read/write utilities for every kind of media available. And the media of course!

2 Printers, inkjet and laser.

A scanner.

Puuh, still ain't exhausted? The rest I'd spend on software, a powerful Laptop, a lightweight Laptop, a PDA, the new iPaq is quite good, a tablet PC, a Mac, an additional PC, a DSLR camera.

Hmmm. I don't know... *runs off without any particular reason*
