Assuming that I'm one of Roman Abramovich's offsprings and that I have a £25,000 budget to spend, I'd like to run a little competition asking you to post your dream specs. All that I ask is that your specs be feasible i.e. no adding car engine parts or other make shift elements.

Regards, Stuart

Welcome to the site Opulence, do you mean £25,000 for a single computer? :)

Well, for £25,000 I'd want:
  • A big 42" LCD as the main monitor, along with a top of the range projector for games/films - I think this would be the most expensive part (about £10,000 for the best both).
  • Not sure on the exact sound system, but the finest 7.1 sound system money could buy for around £8,000, would give the best gameplay ever in partnership with the projector.
  • Fastest Dual Operons Available (or Intel Xeons with 2MB cache)
  • 4GB DDR II Ram
  • 2 x Raptors (RAID) for the main drive + an array of 8 x 500GB Drives
  • DVD-RW
  • 2 x GeForce 6800 Ultras in SLI (cheers Alf)
  • Force Feedback Flight Yoke, pedals, steering wheel and joystick (for every game combo!).
Not sure on the rest yet :)

AMD FX55 - XP-120 heatsink
MSI K8N Neo 2
512*2 Ballistix DDR PC3200
Eclipse 62 Case
XFX 6800 Ultra
SilentX 600W PSU
120MM delta fans at front and back of case
Vantec noise dampener kits for fans and PSU
Maxtor 8 300GB S-ATA
And all the rest, best sound card and all that. I use 5.1 headphones, so noise is no concern. I guess im being modest with the money i would have...but that would suit me. if i knew anything more about phase cooling and all that, then thats another £300 or so ^_^

You all seem to be giving me so much however, the majority of the specs posted would leave me with a large amount of change, somewhere in the region of around £20,000 to be precise. I'll give you all a few more days before I put you all our of your miseries by posting my beast!

This is theoretical as much as you want it to be, some would dare to call it positive projection.

All I know Is that I have a cool, bundle of 50's sitting on the mantlepiece that needs spending on one hell of a computer.

Regards, Opulence
