2008 Turbo Tax on XP. It will not Install.

I'm trying to install Turbo Tax for business on my XP box.

The progress bar has been stuck at 2% for about an hour.

It does not look promising; I have corporate taxes due in 4 days.

I looked for help on their user forum:

I click on it and I get this message:

We are making Live Community better.
We'll be back shortly.

I guess I'm unlucky that inuit wants to enhance their user forum
software 3 days before the business tax deadline.

I guess I can always go the cave-man route and download .pdf files
from irs.gov and fill them out with a ball-point pen...

1 thing is for sure, I will not use turbo tax for my personal taxes
which are due about a month from now.

In the mean-time if any of you know how to get under the hood of
turbotax business installer and tell me where I might find a log file
or some kind of clue...

That would be good.

The software is available for free download at turbotax.com.

The deal is that you pay when you are ready to print.

Give it a try; see if you can install turbotax business.

Their support page claims they give support via e-mail but they don't
give the e-mail address.

Maybe they expect me to get it from google?

I was bit cranky yesterday.

Anyway I found the link to various intuit support inputs
(Thanks Ron).

I posted my turbotax-tale to the forum there.

I got a quick response from "TechPro".

He/She suggests I install this software from microsoft:
Windows Installer 4.5 Redistributable
URL: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...6F-60B6-4412-95B9-54D056D6F9F4&displaylang=en

Do any of you windows people know anything about this piece of
software?

I'd like to get some opinions about it before installing it on a
fairly new xp-laptop.

I know very little about windows machines but I operate them with the
view that the less software I put on a windows machine the better.

question again:
Do any of you know anything about:
Windows Installer 4.5 Redistributable
??

Thanks,
--Dan
