2007 & 2003 video importing

I am having trouble with mpeg 1 videos. If I insert them using ppt 2003 then
they will not play in ppt 2007. And the same goes in reverse. If I insert the
mpeg 1 videos in ppt 2007 and then open the ppt fil ein ppt 2003 all of the
other animations will work but the videos will not play.
What am I doing wrong. Oh, and neither files will play on a mac ppt 2004!
