2 - Windows 2003 DC - Native

I am in one location with 2 Windows 2003 DC with Exchange 2003 on one of
them. All NATIVE.

- 1 server (Server A) has all the FSMO roles and happens to be the Exchange
Server also
- 1 Server (Server B) - is the other Windows 2003 DC; functions as File
Server and VPN Server

Both servers are GCs for our single site.

Is this setup ok - I am just verfiying my FSMO roles are ok and if it is
efficient.

In future, for additional sites - can you guys give pointers or best
practices?

Thanks.

Sounds pretty good, but IIRC it's generally not recommended that one use a
DC as a VPN server.

How many users do you have in your location? You could overload a
server with AD and exchange but if you only have a a handful or few
hundred users then you should be ok.

Make sure to take periodic performance logs so that you have hard
numbers on performance. This way if you need to expand or buy
additional servers then you can show your managers the growth and need
for additional equipment.
