2 Vaio laptop problems

I've inherited this machine (from my grandson!) and have 2 problems:-
1. The OS (XP Pro) has been restored from a restore disk but despite
extensive registry editing I've been unable to remove all references to him.
2. I've been unable to stop Outlook Express always opening on start-up.

I did post this to another Group but had no replies.

Any help and advice would be welcome.

Usually a restore cd set will give you the option for a 'recovery' i.e. a
repair that retains data or a destructive recovery. i.e. it puts the PC back
to factory supply state. In this state you will be setting the PC up from
scratch and there will be no reference to any user.
Suggest you read Sony help pages for use of recovery cd's
