16 Bit DOS App in Windows 2000

We have a proprietary 16 Bit DOS based application written in Clipper 5.2e
which accesses Dbase3 files. The app is running on a Windows 2000 Server and
is accessed by Windows 2000 Pro client machines. Recently we started having
problems with people getting blown out of the system back to the desktop,
loosing data and leaving dBase files open on the network. the quickest way
to clear the open files is to have the client reboot. The app had previously
been running in this environment for a couple of years without these problems.

Has anyone seen this before. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Your best bet is to go to the general newsgroups to comp.lang.clipper as
that language is still very much alive and the newsgroup very active. I
programmed in it for years and still have 5.2e apps running under XP SP1 &
SP2 as well. Someone there probably can help you.

A lot will depend on what your program was linked with. Do you have the
source code available in case it needs to be recompiled or relinked?
