0x8007064 - Installation source not available?

Guest

After upgrading to the latest version, and being told on the home screen that
my definitions are 81 days old, I can't even check for updates. I cleaned
everything up prior to re-installing (for the third time) and now I can't
update the sigs.
The installer cleanup also stops with a dialog box asking for the location
of some feature on a removable disk??????
Anyone seen this before?
Thanks,
glenn

Go to Windows Update, do an Express scan, and apply all offered updªtes
http://update.microsoft.com
Once that is finished, can you verify the update installs? There are many
pre-requisite files which are needed from windows update and signature update
with windows defender will fail until you have these files.

I hope this post is helpful.
Let us know how it works ºut.

Thanks, Engel...
got over the first hurdle trying to clean up the old sig files ... had to
point it to the installation directory on C:. after that, went to microsoft
update and there was the message for definition upgrades.... and it worked.
doing a scan now.
thanks again.
