03 SP1 - Can't close dupl Personal Folders - "An object could not.

Bought a new laptop. Copied my .pst file from the old PC (which was running
OL2003). In the process of trying to get all the data out of the old .pst
and into the default Outlook.pst that Outlook created when I installed Office
on the new PC, I've managed to create two sets of "Personal Folders" pointing
to the same (old PC) .pst (in addition to the default Outlook.pst folders
list).

I can navigate the folders in both old-PC folder lists, but
right-click/Close "Personal Folders" gives the following error message:

"The operation failed. An object could not be found"

Right-click/Properties for "Personal Folders"/Folder Size works fine. But
clicking the "Advanced" button, yields the same error message.

How do I close these two instances of "Personal Folders" so that they
dissappear from my All Folders list?

Thanks,
JD

JD: it is usually easiest to import the messages from your old .pst into the
new .pst. It is pretty smooth and painfree. Delete the newer personal folders
you added, restart Outlook and then File>Import and Export>Import from
another program or file>Personal File Folde .pst.

Thanks for the tips. I'll stick to the straight and narrow next time I have
to re-load data to a pc.

Uninstalling and re-installing Outlook had no effect on the problem with the
phantom copies of Personal Folders that were showing up, so I resorted to
renaming a couple of registry thingies that referred to my phantom folder
lists.

Seems to have worked without ill-effect so far. :)
