Zone Alarm not working after XP upgrade

I've used freebie Zone Alarm for several years (I have latest version 5)
and have ALWAYS allowed the 3 big guys of IExplorer, Microsoft Outlook
(mailing) and Outlook Express (newsgroups) to bypass, 24/7, the "block"
I have to ALL other programs. All other programs I allow access only
as needed.

After upgrading to XP, with NO changes made by me to my ZL settings, ZL
is NOT allowing any of those 3 programs access to internet. I have to
completely make ZL inactive to get access.

Do I have to uninstall ZL and re-install it? Is there another way to
solve my problem? I could also contact ZL tomorrow, but it's after
hours now.

Any help, of course, will be appreciated.

Hi Jude,

The WinXP firewall does not play nice with ZoneAlarm. Make sure that
the WinXP firewall is turned off.

Hey, C. Joseph Drayton

Where do I go to make the choice to turn the XP's firewall off or on?

Thanks for responding.

Hi Jude,

Go to network connections under properties you should be able to
turn the firewall off.

Thanks,

I found it, thanks. Btw, I went to ZA forum, and for 2 of my 3
problems I just had to remove Outlook and Outlook Express from ZA, get
out of ZA and re-start them both. I then got back into ZA and clicked
to allow them to bypass block and it worked. As far as IE was
concerned, I had to make my DSL and ISP addresses listed as "trusted"
in another place on updated version of ZA. All is well... well... that
is with Zone Alarm.... :)

Thanks again,

Jude
