Make sure the firewall is set at high for Internet Zone Security and Low/Med
for Trusted Zone Security, aqnd make sure that all the programs you are
sharing have the appropriate rights, etc. Usually sharing programs rights
should be set at Access(Trusted & Internet) and Server(Trusted & Internet).

Some hints:

- ICS works fine with the free ZoneAlarm version as well, although
their FAQs still suggest you should switch to Pro.
- Go sure you are running the latest ZoneAlarm version (this solved a
similar issue for me once).
- Check that your local network adapter (means its network address /
subnet mask) is part of the Trusted Zone.
- Set the security level to "medium" for both Internet and Trusted
Zone.
- Ensure that besides activating Internet Connection Sharing on your
server's Internet adapter, addtional protocols might have to be
enabled (SMTP, FTP, TELNET, etc).
- Your client's TCP/IP settings must define the server's IP address as
DNS Server and Default Gateway.
