zipped *.mdb acting funny

I email my *.mdb (zipped) to people.
They open it up. And the buttons on the switchboard
dont work. They are enabled and seem to have focus,
but they dont launch the forms, reports, etc that
they are supposed to (via Event Procedures).

If the customer Compacts the database, then the
buttons work.

What is going on and what can I do so that my
customers quit thinking I write buggy code!

narrow it down by sending the mdb unzipped and see if it is problem. I
doubt it is the zip problem.
