Zip file copy ability

I have been trying to copy zip files from a networked computer to my laptop -
networked to my other computer (workgroup or peer to peer - my main desktop
is connected directly to an internet provider DSL modem and my laptop is part
of the workgroup). What's odd is that some zip files come over and some
don't. When the computer has an issue, the computer says: "Cannot copy file:
Access is denied. Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that
the file is not currently in use."
Is there some setting somewhere to allow this computer to copy over all zip
files?

Thanks!

Well this seems a bit odd here. I got a notification of answer to my own
query re zip files and it brought me here!

Anyhow, since you asked, I'm no expert on all this (and you sound like you
might be). What about checking if 'share' is enabled (all the way - tick
both) for that particular file. In some cases I found that I also had to
enable 'share' for the folder and also the drive where a file was located.
You'd have to do it at the source
computer and may need Admin rights. May also have something to do w/
'permissions' or might be 'protected' on an ntfs drive.

Also, maybe the file is to big and on an ntfs drive, while yours might be
fat32; or maybe it is attributed in a way that doesn't permit a 'copy'.

You probably know all this and I may be all off base here - but good luck
anyway.
