Zip Drive drops off

I found Zip drive was not operating. had disappeared from My Computer.
I did a print out of profile ex Belarc and the Zip was not mentioned
14/8/06

I then did a restore back to 1 Aug 06 when I knew Zip was working.

Zip re-appeared in my computer and in Belarc profile print out.
I then went and compared SP3 updates and found 3 on 15/8/06 were not there
on 1/8/06. KB 920670,KB920683 KB921883
Is there something in these updates that has caused ZIP to drop out, or is
there something linked to the date which has the effect of uninstalling Zip
drive. I run Trend Micro Penicillin and have also installed PC mighty
max. Any suggestions?

Don't know. After reading about Black Tuesday's Updates, it
was better not to install any of them. Didn't you hear about
it or get the word? Or are you on automatic updates and they
just got downloaded and installed.
 
Ah yes the answer may have helped a bit. I read a little on Cnet about
problems. Since then more updates have arrived and problem seems to mave
been resolved. I have reverted to manual install of updates. What a huge
waste of time . Jim Black
