zip codes not hyphenated

I created a database of 3700 names & addresses in Access 2000, using the Table Wizard's mailing list settings. When I try to print the labels from either Access or Word, the labels print beautifully, but the 9-digit zip codes are not hyphenated. The zip codes are hyphenated in my table and form, but on the labels, the hyphens disappear. The post office will not accept them like that. I don't know what to do, nor does anyone I have asked! Can anyone help?

I suspect that they're not actually hyphenated in your table, but that the
format property has been set to insert the hyphen.

Open your table in design mode, and take a look at the zip code field to
determine whether a format has been applied. If so, apply that same format
to your query.
