zip code preceding zero merge error

When merging an excel sheet with word doc, the states with a preceeding 0
yield an error message. I did try the formatting suggested for the zip code
field in the excel sheet.
 
When merging in Word, choose MS Excel Worksheets via DDE.
This will retain your formating in Excel to Word

Thank you. I read also on another post to go into the Word tools, options,
general and check the box marked confirm conversion at open. That way when
you select the spreadsheet you want, the confirmation box will come up. I am
running XP and am not sure if this is true for other versions. Thanks again!
