I am searching for something in a form and before it finds what I'm looking
for this message appears "The Microsoft Jet Database Engine has stopped the
process because you and another user are trying to edit the same data at the
same time" This is not true I'm the only one on the database. It is on
another computer but that computer is off.. Please can someone help??
Thanks

You might be that other user...

Do you have two forms open, both access the same tables, or a form and
subform?

Could you explain how that works?

I suspect that in addition to the possibility that you have two forms
open, you also may have a problem with a *.ldb (locking database file)
issue. Exit the database and then take a look at the directory were the
database is located. If it has a file with the same name as the database
but with the extension ldb rather than mdb then either someone else is
really in that file or for some reason that file did not get deleted the
last time some was in it (don't let people just turn their machines off
without exiting Access and make sure they all have delete rights to that
folder.)

You know, I'm having the exact same issue today. I use ebay's sellers
assistant program that is access powered. While I was importing my daily
sales, the external drive where the database is kept was accidentally
unplugged.
Now I'm getting this error. It's not an ldb issue and I am 100% sure that
nobody else is using the database. Any idea how to resolve the issue asap?
Thanks
Josh
