yet another problem

When I turn on my computer these days, I'm getting sound---voices, music,
sounds like a commercial. Why??? My browser isn't even open! My DSL is on
though. Glitches like this on my computer are really getting annoying.
Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not sure what you mean by when you log in, is it the welcome screen
music or when you are on the desktop?
I hada look on your recent post and found that you been complaining from an
infection by Zlob/Vundo or fake alert infestation.
Did you sent your Hijackthis as PA Bear instructions?

1... Click start >> Control Panel >> Double Click Network and Internet
Connections >> Double click Internet Options, on the IE Properties window
you will see these Options:
General | Security | Privacy | Content | Connections | Programs
| Advanced .

Click on General Tab (1st Tab on the left) and you will see a Button called
[ Clear History ..] click on it to clear your History caches, then click on
[Delete Files..] to delete Internet Files created over the time, click on [
Delete Cookies...] to delete your cookies left by visiting websites.

= Then try to Disable the Add-Ons on your Browser somehow installed on your
browser, On how to disable the Add-ons follow this:
Click on Programs Tab and then click the Manage Add-Ons Button there Disable
the None/Not Verified Plug-ins/Add-ons ( you need to Renable them one-by-one
later and see which is the culprit or you can send them here in your next
post) and click [OK] to confirm your Changes.

If this is the same computer you posted about before, then you need to do as
PA Bear suggested and deal with the malware by posting in one of the many
specialty forums. Once again, here is the information:

Get guided help at one of the specialty forums below OR back up your data
and do a clean install of Windows. It is your choice. If you are unsure how
to back up your data or how to do a clean install, you can take your
machine to a local computer professional. I don't recommend using
BigComputerStore/GeekSquad types of places.

My computer got screwed up to the point that I just did a system recovery on
it. It wouldn't shut down properly, and I couldn't even get IE to connect to
the internet. Fortunately I learned years ago save everything to disk. Now
it's just a matter of putting all my "stuff" back on the computer. It's a
pain, but at least things are working again. The last straw seemed to be
when I ran Lavasoft Ad-Aware and found lots of critical objects to delete.
Anybody have any thoughts about this software???

I think becuase whatever the Ad-Aware found and delted were Susyem files
infected and instead of curing it or Quarantine it, you selected to Delete
which caused the system to halt or malfuntion!
It is better to check the infected objects to make sure they are not system
file related so you can replace them with a clean one from your Disk or from
the DllCache or the installation Directory on your machine.

That could be it. I thought it was quarantining then deleting, but maybe
not. If the critical object it finds begins with WIN, is it always a system
file? Is Ad-Aware capable of cleaning these files?
