Your machine infected by a viral infection most likely by Zlob/Vundo variants.
You have three options:
1- Send your hijackthis to one of many forums listed by PA Bear.
2- I will be happy to help you if you sent me the log
3- Take the machine to your local repair shop for them to sort it out for
you and get peace of mind.

I mean when I boot up my computer, after the boot is completed, this music or
ad or whatever it is just starts playing. When I boot up my computer, I
connect the DSL box and turn it on, but I don't open my browser until I'm
ready to browse. This "noise" is just coming from seemingly nowhere.

When I turn on my computer these days, I'm getting sound---voices, music,
sounds like a commercial. Why??? My browser isn't even open! My DSL is on
though. Glitches like this on my computer are really getting annoying.

Any help would be appreciated.
I'm not sure what you mean by when you log in, is it the welcome screen
music or when you are on the desktop?
I hada look on your recent post and found that you been complaining from an
infection by Zlob/Vundo or fake alert infestation.
