Hi,

I finally managed to get out to internet with the help of micro tech. I have
d/l the patch (I think) and then shut down, restarted, and then did two
virus searches. One with Norton's (on my machine) and 2 from housecall.
Neither picked up any virus still on computer....how can that be.....I have
been told by all I speak to that the virus remains on the computer until
found?? Is it lurking somewhere that I cannot find with virus scans??
Hope you can help

Mel

Did you enable your firewall? Try running any of the various MBlast removal
tools?

You are most likely infected with a virus.

To stop the rebooting/shutdowns, right click on the task bar, choose task
manager, processes tab, look for msblast.exe. Highlight it and click end
process. Then turn on the xp firewall. Do this as quickly as you can once
the desktop comes up. Then visit the sites below for the removal and patch
info.

Also make sure to follow the links to the Microsoft pages for the patch or
visit windows update for the patch after you remove it.
