blaster worm

hi and thank you for your help.
I was hit by the worm and i installed the patches
required including the windows XP service pack 1a which
has disabled the sounds on my Toshiba laptop (satellite
5100) which uses Yamaha audio system... and what's more
my Norton Anti virus keeps popping up with a red alert,
saying it cannot access the virus...and remove it. so my
questions are:
1.. can i remove the virus and how?
2.. how can i stop norton anti virus from popping up and
3. i need the sound on my laptop, how can i retrieve it?
should i remove the patch?

Also, disable System Restore, and then re-enable System Restore. Often an
Antivirus program can't fully remove a virus/worm, because System Restore
Points contain elements of it. When you disable System Restore, all Restore
Points are lost, including whatever virus or worm elements they might
contain.
