Yahoo Messanger

My question will probably go unanswered as per i have searched well over the
1,000 hour mark looking for a fix and comming back with a nada....I had yahoo
mesanger installed it worked fine.Then windows had an update.Yahoo started
giving me problems so i searched the knowledge base to find a fix to no
avail.So i went to yahoo and checked nothing helpful there so i e-mailed
them.The sent me a reply telling me to redownload and clean install it.I did
and now it crashes unexpectedly,logs me in and out,and my display pic will
not change from the default that comes with it.There are like 7-10 other
default pics but none of them work either except the first one shown. I have
tried to repair it as well through the add remove programs but it will get
about 87% done and give me an error telling me it need the complete file
destination for a particular file.I have entered numorus file destinations
but none of them work.I have pretty much given up on a fix and have declared
that the problem must be the messenger itself do to it being a beta version
and i can't find an older version to go back too.Several of my contacts have
problems as well.Even newest ones.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You might want to consider using a different IM client. Since I have
friend using ICQ, Yahoo!, MSN and AOL, I have opted to use gAIM
which is a Freeware IM < http://sourceforge.net/projects/gaim >
client that handles all four IM services. It also has an extension
called OTR (Off-the-Record) which allows you to have chat sessions
that are encrypted so that if they are intercepted they can not be read.
